February 2019: Pica

Welcome to the February Edition!

In this edition I reviewed the research into Pica. Pica is a feeding disorder in which the person ingests inedible items, (pencils, materials, paper, toys), which is deemed developmentally and culturally inappropriate. This is prevalent in people with developmental disabilities, so you may have had experience dealing with pica as a professional or parent.

Also, I celebrate the career of the inspiration Ryan O’Donnell, MS, BCBA. I review an NET that includes train sets, suggest some books useful for implementing or learning about Direct Instruction (product section), and much more!

I hope you enjoy this edition and have a great month!
